Who we are
Crystal Corner was founded in 1989 by Karen Matthews and is a family run business.
Karen served her apprenticeship as a Gilder and Chandelier restorer with Dr Peter Farmer for six years working on prestigious projects such as:
Chelsea Bridge - Gilding of the galleons on the bridge
Hampton Court Palace - Working on the chandeliers after the fire
Tower of London - Gilding of the replica coronation throne, designing, gilding and painting the replica chandelier in the throne room
Balmoral hotel, Edinburgh - Restoration of the chandeliers and wall-lights
Norbury Park House - restoring the painted room including restoring the Cipriani paintings
Hatfield Several Priory - gilding and restoring the library
Amsterdam - gilding of the ‘Zoe” statue outside the casino.
Barbican - gilding of the statues
Amsterdam - gilding of the roundels
Chatham Historic Dockyard - Chatham, Kent
Leeds - Restoration of the clock, The Reaper statue and the chandeliers and Wall-lights
Karen was joined in 1998 by Colin, they were married and Colin became a great asset to the business helping with the restoration, delivery and installation.
We have three daughters, Nina in France, Anna in Australia and Georgia in Cookham, . have eight grandchildren and one great grandson
For nearly 30 years we have been rescuing, renovating and re-homing beautiful antique chandeliers from all over the world, from France, Italy, the U.K and more.
We stock Antique chandeliers, wall lights and lanterns in all shapes and sizes and we endeavour to discover unusual and unique lights that are sure to make an impact in your home.

Opening Hours
We are ‘open all hours’! We have a large workshop/warehouse in Marlow which is open by appointment - we are always happy to open early mornings, late evening or weekends for customers provided we are available.
Alternatively we offer a free, no obligation service where we can bring a selection of chandeliers to debut in your home. We have offered this service for many years and find it is the only way to see the chandeliers in-situ to help with you decision.
We offer a relaxed personal service and are very happy to give you advice. If you are looking for something specific please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help.
